Faith Morris, who resided in Hinckley, was recently convicted of multiple felony counts and sentenced to more than 20 years in prison. The charges involved crimes against children at a Brunswick daycare center, as well as unrelated child sexual abuse material uncovered during our investigation in Hinckley.

This case underscores the importance of cooperation between law enforcement agencies. Hinckley Police initially received a referral from the Internet Crimes Against Children (ICAC) Task Force concerning suspected online child sexual abuse material. Our investigation led to a search warrant at Morris’s home and her arrest.

During an interview with Detective Miracle, Morris provided information about her involvement with children at the daycare. That information was shared with Brunswick detectives, who investigated the crimes committed in their city.

We are proud of Detective Miracle and our team for their diligent work on this investigation, and grateful for the partnership with the Brunswick Division of Police, the ICAC Task Force, and the Medina County Prosecutor’s Office in bringing this case to justice.

While no sentence can undo the harm caused, we hope this outcome provides some measure of justice for the children and families affected.

Our patrol presence and traffic enforcement efforts help reduce crashes and keep the community safe. Unfortunately, crashes still occur, and we will always do our best to help those involved through these difficult and often traumatic experiences.

We appreciate the email recognizing Ptl. Ascherl and Ptl. Stepka for their professionalism and the assistance they provided to a family this past weekend!

Did you know… There is a medication disposal box in the Hinckley Police Department lobby, available 24/7?

In partnership with the Medina County Drug Task Force and funded by the Medina County Anti-Drug Levy, the Medina County D.U.M.P. Program (Dispose of Unwanted Medicine Properly) provides residents with a safe, easy way to dispose of unwanted medications for destruction - no questions asked.

It is recommended that you remove any labels containing identifying information, or use a Sharpie to cover them. Place your pills, powders, or capsules in a Ziploc bag and drop them in the box. That’s it.

NO SYRINGES OR LIQUIDS, PLEASE.
