🚧 ROAD ALERT – ROADWAY RESURFACING 🚧

Please plan accordingly for Tuesday, October 6 and Wednesday, October 7 due to roadway resurfacing work in the area.

⚠️ Please AVOID Sheridan Avenue between East Prospect Street and Lower Cross Road. Road closures and traffic delays are expected while work is underway.

➡️ THRU TRAFFIC: Please follow the posted detour utilizing East Saddle River Road.

🏠 LOCAL TRAFFIC: Motorists accessing West Saddle River Road between Lower Cross Road and East Allendale Road should enter from East Allendale Road.

Please allow extra travel time, follow all posted signs and directions, and use caution around road crews.

On October 3, 2026 from 10am-5pm, West Allendale Avenue (downtown) will be closed to traffic for the Chamber of Commerce Allendale Day. Detour will be posted and police will be downtown for safety and security. The event is open to the public from 12:00pm-4:00pm.

Please plan an alternate route if needed.

"National Weather Service Issues Coastal Flood Advisory From 6PM Today Through 6PM Sunday and a Wind Advisory From 2PM Today Through 6AM Sunday

COUNTYWIDE:
Bergen County OEM is monitoring a Nor’easter that will affect our area starting later tonight through Monday morning. Rain will continue on and off through Monday morning. The heaviest rain and wind will occur Saturday afternoon through Sunday afternoon. Total rainfall is expected to be around 2 -3 inches for the entire event.
Runoff may result in minor flash flooding of rivers, small creeks, streams, and other low lying and flood prone locations. Urban flooding of low lying and poor drainage areas is likely.
Moderate tidal flooding is possible for this event, especially the Southern end of the Hackensack and
Passaic Rivers. This may occur starting with this evening’s high tide and continue through Saturday evening’s high tide."

Take your hazardous waste to a safer place! Tomorrow, Saturday, September 19th from 9am-3pm at Campgaw Mountain Reservation there will be a Hazardous Waste Collection Event from the Bergen County Utilities Authority.

Collection events are free for Bergen County residents. No commercial vehicles allowed, and no business or commercial waste will be accepted. Events are rain or shine- but in the event of severe weather, event times may be adjusted. For more information, visit www.bcua.org.
