Participants must be 18 years of age or older.

You have not received a SHHH! Book Club giveaway book within the past 3 months.

Limit one free book per household.

Winner must come in to Hobbs Public Library to pick up their book during regular library hours. (Unavailable to mail book to winner). Facebook winners will be contacted by Hobbs Public Library staff member. In-Person winners will be confirmed by library staff member at Circulation Desk.

LOOK WHAT'S COMING IN OCTOBER!

🍂 Adult Crafter-Noon Hobbs Public Library

October Fall Decor Workshop Series



🍂 Saturday, October 3rd @ 1:00 pm — “Puffy Paint & Found Art”

Learn how to make your own puffy paint and use it to create a textured fall-inspired mini artwork. Participants can embellish their piece with found, recycled, and repurposed materials to add dimension and personality.



🍂 Saturday, October 10th @ 1:00 pm — “Jar to Jewel: Clay & Candlelight”

Give an ordinary food jar a fall makeover! Participants will use air-dry clay to create decorative elements around a recycled jar, paint and varnish, then finish it with a tea light for a cozy fall accent.



🍂 Saturday, October 17th @ 1:00 pm — “Fall Scene in Wood” (sign up available on 10/12/26)
Turn an unfinished wooden piece into a personalized fall decoration. Participants will combine acrylic paints and markers to create their own autumn scene—perfect for displaying at home or giving as a handmade gift.

🍂 Saturday, October 24th @ 1:00 pm — “Roll, Reuse & Create: Magazine Coasters”

Give old magazines a new purpose! Learn a clever rolling technique to transform colorful magazine pages into sturdy, functional coasters. Participants can paint or decorate their finished pieces to coordinate with their fall décor.



Adults, explore the fun of handmade art! Join Hobbs Public Library for a series of hands-on workshops in October inspired by fall home décor, DIY, easy art techniques and crafts. Create your own piece to take home. No previous experience necessary—just bring your curiosity and creativity!

The Hobbs Public Library family of the year is the Aleman family. Parents Adrian and Karen have taught their children, Javier and Catalina, the importance of fully embracing everything a public library has to offer. This family knows the library is a place to learn, discover, participate and grow together. Javier and Catalina show their love of learning and the library by sharing what they have learned with others. One of the Aleman children started their own book club modeled after Ms. Alexis's Books and Beyond program. The Aleman family is always thoughtful and respectful to all library staff and fellow patrons. Aleman family we appreciate you so much and congratulations on being Hobbs Public Library's family of the year
