The Hoisington Police Department is proud to announce Master Patrolman Mason Paden recently completed the Range Instructor Course at the Kansas Law Enforcement Training Center in Hutchinson, Kansas.

This intensive 40-hour course is designed to certify law enforcement officers as fi****ms range instructors. The training is demanding and requires participants to demonstrate a high level of proficiency in fi****ms operation, safety, marksmanship, and instructional techniques. Throughout the course, students fire hundreds of rounds while completing a variety of drills that test both accuracy and weapon-handling skills.

To successfully complete the course, Master Patrolman Paden was required to pass a fi****ms qualification demonstrating precision and accuracy, as well as a written examination covering course material and instructor responsibilities. After meeting all requirements, he earned his certification as a Range Instructor.

Master Patrolman Paden brings this valuable knowledge and training back to the Hoisington Police Department, where he will help fellow officers continue to develop and refine their fi****ms skills in order to better serve and protect our community. His certification will also be an asset as the department utilizes its new fi****ms training range facility.

The Hoisington Police Department would like to thank Master Patrolman Paden for his dedication, professionalism, and commitment to serving the citizens of Hoisington. Congratulations on this outstanding accomplishment.

Sgt. Conley and Officer Parks had a busy week last week. They were excited to return to Lincoln Elementary School and spend time with students discussing important safety topics. Each month, they meet with students at Lincoln and cover a wide range of subjects designed to help young people stay safe, make good decisions, and become more aware of their surroundings.

Building positive relationships with our youth and providing safety education is something the Hoisington Police Department is committed to and strives to accomplish throughout our community.

In addition to their work at Lincoln Elementary, Sgt. Conley and Officer Parks attended the Fall Festival at Jack Kilby Square in Great Bend over the weekend in support of the Family Crisis Center. We appreciate the opportunity to partner with organizations that work to strengthen and support our communities.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

At the Hoisington Police Department, we recognize the importance of supporting victims, raising awareness, and ensuring our officers are prepared to respond effectively to domestic violence incidents in our community.

During September’s in-service training, our officers participated in scenario-based domestic violence investigation training. These realistic training exercises allow officers to practice critical skills, improve decision-making, and strengthen their ability to provide a professional and compassionate response to those affected by domestic violence.

Domestic violence incidents can have a lasting impact on individuals, families, and the community as a whole. Through continued training and education, we strive to provide the highest level of service while helping those in difficult situations access the assistance and resources they need.

The Hoisington Police Department remains committed to working alongside our community to promote safety, support victims, and foster an environment where everyone feels safe seeking help.

Together, we can raise awareness, support those affected by domestic violence, and build a stronger, safer community.

Thank you to Hoisington EMS staff for participating with the scenarios!
