This past weekend our 8th Grade Volleyball team participated in the CKL Tournament in Halstead. The girls fought hard all day but came up a bit short in some close matches. They beat Hillsboro 26-24, 25-23 to begin the day in pool play. They then lost a grueling 3 set match to Pratt-Liberty 25-27, 26-24, 11-15. In the first round of bracket play the Lady Cards lost to the eventual tourney champs, Smoky Valley, 18-25, 13-25. The 8th grade girls finished their season with an 11-11 overall record. Congrats to the team and coaches!

Due to the city’s boil water advisory, all students and staff should bring a bottle of safe drinking water to school each day until the advisory has been lifted. Please fill bottles with bottled water or water that has been properly boiled and cooled. Thank you for your cooperation!

Results vs Liberty Middle School on 10/15/26:

Our C-Team girls lost in a very close match (25-22, 19-25, 14-16). They finished their season with a 6-5 record. This group didn't get to play many matches due to our low numbers, and for a large part of the season it was the same team as our 7th Grade roster.

Our 7th Grade Girls fell to the Greenbacks (13-25, 17-25). They finished the season with an 8-10 record. This group continually improved and will be ready to contend as 8th graders next season. Congrats to the players and Coach Betts.

Our 8th Grade Girls landed themselves a BIG win vs. Liberty winning (25-16, 25-23). This pushes their league record to 4-2, and overall record to 10-9. They will compete in the 8th grade CKL Tournament in Halstead on Saturday, October 17 at 9:00 am. The pools and brackets will be sent out as soon as I get them. Good Luck to our 8th Grade Girls and Coach Meadows!
