Yesterday, we were honored to link arms with Hope Network and Ladder Homes as partners to build a home for adults with mental illness working toward independence. We broke ground on this partnership project that will provide an affordable home for four individuals in our community. We're excited to support the work of Ladder Homes, Hope Network, Gateway Mission, and Good Samaritan as we all work together to make housing more affordable right here in West Michigan.

Our duplex and triplex at Ottawa Townhomes are changing everyday. On one side of the duplex, painting of walls and ceilings is completed, cabinets are installed, and vinyl flooring is over halfway done. On the other side, drywall is finished and it's almost ready for paint.

At the triplex, exterior siding and trim are halfway done and we're preparing to install ceiling insulation on the inside.

High fives all around for our volunteers and staff who are making so much progress each week. 🙌

After leaving an unsafe living situation, Jenifer and her three sons struggled with homelessness, living with family and friends for several months. In a short span, they had to move 4 times. Finally, Jenifer found a safe house and moved her boys there.

Amid all of their moves, Jenifer heard about Lakeshore Habitat’s Homeownership Program and decided to apply, believing it was a long shot. When she found out she was accepted, she was in utter shock and had trouble truly comprehending that she would have a home of her own.

Despite the hardships Jenifer has faced in her life, she remains hopeful and strong, giving God the glory and praise. We are thankful for the opportunity to partner with her.
