Voting is easy, but if you've never done it or haven't been to one of OUR polls in Medina County ever or in awhile, it can be intimidating. Here's a video from the company that supplies the machines we use so you know what to expect. As long as you're registered and bring an acceptable photo ID, you'll be just fine. I am beyond honored to receive the endorsement and recommendation of the Uvalde Leader-News.

“Katy Padilla Stout has the right mix of experience and passion for children and families to represent Uvalde as part Texas’ 23rd Congressional District. A former elementary school teacher and now practicing attorney focused on child welfare and education, the Democratic candidate has a clear and sympathetic understanding of the challenges that families across the region grapple with each day.”

You may have heard that a ballot marked with initials or other writing may disqualify your ballot, but that is a misconception. In fact, the presiding election judge for a polling place or the early voting clerk must sign or initial the ballots in Texas. Don't let misinformation confuse you.

Good afternoon, Medina County! If you've applied for a ballot by mail for the upcoming 2026 November Joint General Election, please read these important tips before mailing or delivering your marked ballot.

🗳️ DID YOU KNOW?

Under Texas Election Code Sections 62.008 and 85.0311, ballots used at polling locations are required to have either the Presiding Judge’s signature or the Early Voting Clerk’s initials on the back, depending on whether you are voting on Election Day or during Early Voting.

These requirements are part of Texas election procedures and help ensure that ballots are properly authorized.

🇺🇸 Our goal is to keep Medina County voters informed and confident in the election process!
