Human Resources Foundation Who Supports the HRF? At HRF, we believe in choice, in individualized support, in self-advocacy, in independence and in living life to our fullest potential.

Established in 2015, the Human Resources Foundation has a mission to enhance the quality of life of individuals with disabilities throughout Northeast Pennsylvania. Our Mission

The mission of the Human Resources Foundation is to enhance the quality of life and well-being of individuals with disabilities throughout Northeastern Pennsylvania. We achieve this by providing financial support to our sister agency, the Human Resources Center, so that we may continually enhance and develop its programs and support services. In addition, we provide annual grants to community members and organizations whose mission aligns with the advancement and support of individuals with disabilities, providing greater opportunity and accessibility through program, service, or special project initiatives. Our Vision

Our vision is for a community that embraces accessibility and choice, one that champions for inclusive spaces and equal opportunity so that we may encourage and empower all those in our region to live their lives to the fullest potential. If you are someone who aspires for a community that is built on inclusion, equal opportunity, and diversity, then you are someone who supports this Foundation. Even if you yourself have not had the privilege to know, love, or care for someone with a disability, our vision is something that all of us should strive towards for our communities.

We visited Fair Hill Therapeutic Riding Center last week to award them with a grant to cover boarding for their horses for the year! This amazing program could not even begin without fantastic, healing horses, and a stable (no pun intended) place for them to rest and work. This is why this grant was very important to those within FHTRC, as well as HRF.

We continue to strive for Fair Hill to continue their services of therapeutic riding to those who need it all throughout NEPA. Therapeutic riding adapts horseback riding instruction to support individuals with physical, cognitive, emotional, and sensory needs. This allows individuals to find and build balance, relaxation, coordination, and confidence.

On Thursday, October 8th, The Human Resources Foundation received a Certificate of Appreciation from Special Olympics Pennsylvania for providing renovation and installation of new Bocce courts in the Park St. Complex in Honesdale!

These new courts can be accessible by wheelchair, making yet another inclusive space for those with disabilities. Thank you again for having us celebrate this awesome victory for Wayne County!

A few weeks back, Top Notch Distributors stopped over to our HRF office to deliver a check made out to our Foundation!

Every year, Top Notch donates directly back to non-profits in our community from the donations they receive from their Annual Golf Tournament. We cannot thank them enough for their unwavering support and dedication every step of the way!

On Monday, our Executive Director Dan Card met with Craig Lukatch of Lacawac Sanctuary Foundation to share the good news that they were approved for a grant to build an ADA-accessible ramp for the Watres Lodge!

This grant will allow for a more inclusive space at Lacawac Sanctuary, allowing more community members access with mobility challenges to this historic space.

A big thank you to Craig and his team for aligning with our Mission Statement and striving for a more inclusive and safe community here in NEPA!
