One in three households don't have enough food to meet their basic needs.

Amendment No. 1 of the Honolulu City Charter would create a fund to support programs and grants that provide locally grown and produced food to Oahu residents. It would also help with providing food during an emergency.

HGEA recommends you vote Yes on No. 1.

Your ballot must be received by Election Day, Nov. 3. Vote and mail your ballot early, or submit it in a drop box. For more information on registering to vote, visit elections.hawaii.gov.

Not a single person in Hawaii Kai elected Joe Gedeon. He was appointed to fill the remainder of Gene Ward's term after his passing last year.

Don't let the Carpenter's Union re-write history.

They're spending up to $70,000 to oppose a fellow government employee who’s running to protect your wages and benefits.

Jamie Wataru is a respected member of our community, a state worker of 24 years, trusted by mayors and governors of both parties and fighting as an EUTF Trustee to protect your medical benefits.

The working people's choice is Jamie Wataru.

The midterms will mark a pivotal moment for our country. President Trump has pledged $5,000 dividends to U.S. adult citizens if the Republican Party keeps control of Congress, and his administration pushed an executive order attempting to restrict mail-in voting. What do you think these moves say about how the administration views its chances in November? And what effect do you think this will have on voting integrity?

At a time when anti-union extremists are in charge of all three branches of the federal government in Washington, D.C., U.S. Rep. Jill Tokuda has proven to be a bulwark against efforts to claw back hard-won workers’ rights and undermine working families. Even in these challenging circumstances, Rep. Tokuda is getting work done for Hawaii.

✓ Fought to stop furloughs and layoffs of public employees during the COVID pandemic
✓ A trusted public servant appointed by mayors and governors from both parties

The difference with Jamie has been proven through decades of experience as a public servant, and that’s why we’re supporting him as he runs to represent state House District 18. Vote for him this Nov. 3.

There is roughly $1.5 trillion in Medicare and Medicaid cuts working their way through the system, thanks to the so-called Big Beautiful Bill. For kupuna on Kauai or the Big Island who depend on Medicare, what does that actually look like in practice, and what can realistically be done to reverse it?

You represent rural areas of the Hawaiian islands, and these areas happen to be hard hit from the Kona low storms, plus Hurricanes Lala and Lowell. Can you talk about what you’re seeing when you’re visiting these areas and what you’re able to do when advocating for their recovery in Washington?
