A little envelope. A privilege I never want to take for granted. 🇺🇸

As I prepare to mail my ballot, I’m reminded of how blessed we are to have a voice in the communities we call home.

Voting is more than filling in a ballot. It’s an opportunity to participate, a responsibility worth taking seriously, and a freedom I’m grateful for.

We may not always agree, and that’s okay. There’s something meaningful about being able to have different perspectives while sharing a common appreciation for the freedoms we enjoy.

I’m grateful to God for the blessings of this country and for the opportunity to do my small part.

A blessing. A responsibility. A privilege.

With aloha 🌸

A busy day gets a little easier when you have someone you can count on.

Danyiell reached out when her team needed help with a closing, and I was glad I could step in. Being prepared and making the signing easier for everyone involved is what I aim to bring to every appointment.

Thank you, Danyiell, for trusting me with your clients. I look forward to working together again!

I went in, as usual, to volunteer at the North Shore Chamber of Commerce. What wasn't usual was coming away feeling connected to a piece of local history in a way I hadn’t before.

Lokelani came in with her husband for a notarization.

While talking story, she shared that her mother grew up in the very house where the Chamber is now located — along with her six siblings.

I already knew the house had a long history and had served the community in different ways for decades, but meeting Lokelani gave that history a face.

Suddenly, I wasn’t just thinking about the building. I was thinking about the family who lived there, the seven children who grew up there, and the lifetime of memories that must have filled those rooms.

It was such a good reminder that community work is not only about the service being provided. It is also about the relationships, stories, and unexpected connections that happen along the way.

I really love this community, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to volunteer, serve, and keep learning more about the people and history that make the North Shore so special.

Mahalo, Lokelani, for sharing a piece of your family’s story with me. 💚

A little something you may not know about me — I’m vegan. 🌱

is hands down my favorite place to eat on Oʻahu.

Another thing I’m pretty consistent about — I support local whenever I can.

Where I eat, where I shop, who I hire… if I can keep my dollars here on Oʻahu, I try to.
That’s one more reason Tane has become such a favorite for me.

Yes, I’m vegan and the food is incredible, but I also really appreciate businesses that care about what they serve and support local, too.

Point Reyes is my go-to sushi roll — especially when Evan is making it. I always ask him to turn up the heat because, for me, the hotter the better. He never disappoints.

Places like this are part of what makes our community special.

And yes! I’ll happily keep doing my part by eating there. 🌱

Do you have a local spot you love supporting? 💚

Quick notary tip: if you’re not sure whether to sign before your appointment, wait 🛑

If the signature is the one being notarized, it’s usually better to leave it unsigned until you meet with the notary.

That way, you avoid having to redo anything unnecessarily.

When in doubt, wait to sign and ask.

Your notary becomes part of your client’s experience with your business.

When you refer a client to a notary, you’re trusting that person to represent your business well too.

That means being professional, prepared, organized, and making the signing process feel easy — especially when the client may already be dealing with something important or time-sensitive.

I take that responsibility seriously.

Whether I’m meeting someone at their home, office, hospital, care facility, or another location on Oʻahu, my goal is always the same: make the appointment smooth, professional, and comfortable from start to finish.

When your client needs a notary, who you refer matters. I’m here to be a trusted resource when you need one.

Kind words like these mean more to me than you might realize.

Every appointment is different, and sometimes the circumstances surrounding a notarization are just as important as the paperwork itself.

I’m grateful when a client walks away feeling prepared, cared for, and confident that the details were handled properly.

Thank you, Fay, for trusting me and for taking the time to share your experience. It truly means a lot.

When someone you care about is in a correctional facility and needs a document notarized, figuring out how to make that happen can feel like one more thing you have to navigate.

Correctional facility notarizations aren’t the same as a typical mobile notary appointment. There are facility procedures, scheduling requirements, document coordination, identification requirements, and security protocols that have to be followed.

Access isn’t automatic, either. I have completed the required background checks and clearance process and am authorized to enter the facilities where I provide these services.

This is an area of mobile notary work I’m very familiar with. I coordinate the process from start to finish—working within the facility’s procedures, arranging the appointment, and helping make sure the details are addressed before I arrive.

For families, that means you’re not trying to navigate an unfamiliar process on your own.

If you need a document notarized for someone in a correctional facility on Oʻahu, call Deb and I'll help you navigate this process start to finish.

Some places make you stop for a moment and think about the responsibility behind the work you do.

Standing outside the Hawaiʻi State Capitol was one of those moments for me.

As a Hawaiʻi notary, there are laws, rules, and responsibilities behind every notarization I perform. Most clients don't need—or want—to know every technical detail behind them. They simply need to know that the person sitting across from them understands those responsibilities and takes them seriously.

Whether I'm meeting someone at their home, a hospital, a care facility, a business, or somewhere else on Oʻahu, that responsibility comes with me.
It's something I never want to take for granted.

Need a mobile notary who takes the details seriously? Call Deb with 808 Notary and let's chat.

A client story that captures what I do

A few months ago, a woman reached out to me late in the day. Her mother was in a care facility, very ill, and they needed power of attorney documents notarized urgently. The family was overwhelmed—they didn’t know the process, they weren’t sure how stable Mom would be, and they needed someone who could be gentle, patient, and understanding.

I drove across the island to meet them that evening.

When I arrived, I didn’t walk in with a clipboard. I walked in with compassion. I slowed everything down. I explained every step—not just to the daughter, but to the mother so she felt seen and respected. We took breaks. We repositioned pillows. We made sure she was comfortable. The daughter actually started crying—not because of the documents, but because someone finally helped instead of making the situation harder.

When it was done, she hugged me and said, “Debbie, you made this so easy. I didn’t know notaries did this.”

Moments like that are why I do what I do.
And those moments are why your referrals matter—not just to grow my business, but because they allow me to show up for people at the exact moment they need someone steady and kind.
