FISH Food Bank At FISH we believe no one should go hungry. Together, we work to ensure that everyone has access to the food they need.

We are a neighbor-helping-neighbor organization, powered almost entirely by dedicated volunteers who care deeply about our community. FISH Food Bank is a volunteer based organization with three part time employees. Volunteers take turns opening the food bank each week providing groceries to those in need of emergency or occasional food assistance. Those groups of volunteers include members of churches, fraternal organizations, businesses, schools, and families. Other volunteers track food donations, stock shelves, pick up donations from local grocery stores, clean the sites, deliver food to shut-ins, and a myriad of other jobs, all done to keep FISH Food Bank operating efficiently and smoothly. Celebrating over 50 years of Service to our community!

This week the Hood River Leos were hard at work at the FISH Food Bank, helping neighbors find the perfect pair of reading glasses, completely free!

If you or someone you know could use a pair, stop by and see them next Monday. No appointment needed, and everyone is welcome.

🎃🥫 Trick-or-Treating for a Good Cause — A WEEK EARLY! ❤️

Halloween is still a week away, but the Hood River Valley High School Honor Society is getting a head start on the giving! 👻

Next Saturday, October 24, from 9–11:30 AM, these awesome students will be out collecting shelf-stable food donations for FISH Food Bank during their annual Trick-or-Treat Food Drive.

When they come knocking, please help fill their bags with canned goods, pasta, peanut butter, cereal, and other pantry staples to help feed our neighbors in need.

We love seeing local students turn a Halloween tradition into an opportunity to give back! 🧡

No tricks, just treats for our community! Thanks, HRVHS Honor Society, for helping FISH support local families. 🧡

Talk about a bountiful harvest! Our community has been sharing the goodness of the season, and we couldn’t be more grateful.

A HUGE shout-out to Farmer Sid, who hand-loaded 1,500 pounds of squash and pumpkins into his truck and drove them straight to FISH Food Bank! He’s been doing this for years, and his continued generosity makes a real difference for our neighbors.

And to everyone who has shared fresh fruits and vegetables from your own gardens: THANK YOU! Whether it’s a truckload or a basketful, every donation helps put fresh, nutritious food on our neighbors’ tables.

100 Years of the Bridge of the Gods — What a Celebration!

FISH Food Bank was thrilled to be part of the Bridge of the Gods Centennial Celebration in Cascade Locks on September 19! What a perfect fall day to celebrate 100 years of this iconic bridge and a community that knows how to come together.

Araceli was there representing FISH, while Director Jacqueline and volunteer Jen enjoyed a free ride on the Sternwheeler!

And the celebration brought a little extra goodness our way! Thanks to the generosity of this amazing community, FISH received 100 pounds of shelf-stable food and more than $400 in cash donations!

A huge THANK YOU to the Port of Cascade Locks and all the volunteers who made this wonderful day possible. Here's to 100 years of connection — and to neighbors helping neighbors for many years to come!

🍎 When the crate is too deep to reach from the outside, you send Ellie in! 😂

Ellie found the most back-saving way to unload a giant crate of apples—climb right in and hand them to Jen!

Our volunteers are nothing if not creative. And while we’re pretty sure “Apple Crate Unloading” wasn’t in the volunteer handbook… maybe it should be! 🍎
