Hello everybody! Next week will be the start of a new club! I am introducing a crafting club.

Do you do a craft? Would you like to chat with others about it? New to a craft and want to ask people who will have more experience? Well then this is the club for you! Come and hang out with others, and enjoy the evening.

Because this is the first meeting, the time can change to work with others. Also the name is up to change as well.

I'm excited to see you there!

I know I'm a couple days late but...

Happy banned book week!

What are banned books?
They are books that have been prohibited by law or free access has been limited.

Why are books banned?
Books are banned for many reasons, the main one being objections about their content. They usually include themes that are deemed inappropriate, sexual content, violence, or political views. There has been an increase to limit access to books by minority communities.

And why you should read a banned book?
It will help you explore diverse perspectives, build empathy, and develop critical thinking. You will get to engage with complex topics like racism, identity, and justice. You can become the spark for a conversation about freedom of expression and societal values. Challenge yourself and expand your knowledge. Even though a lot of banned books are fictional, fiction comes from reality.

If you are wanting to explore a banned book, I challenge you to go one step further and find the real world example that pairs with the book.

Take a couple minutes and look why some books were banned.

Have fun and read banned books!
