🌾🚜 HARVEST SEASON ROAD SAFETY 🚜🌾

Harvest season is here, and that means more farm equipment, grain carts, trucks, and slow-moving vehicles on our rural roads.

A few extra seconds of patience can help prevent a serious accident:

🚜 Slow down when approaching farm equipment
πŸš— Give equipment plenty of room and don’t follow too closely
πŸ‘€ Watch for turning equipment β€” a tractor may need to swing wide before turning
πŸ’‘ Be alert for flashing lights and slow-moving vehicle signs
↔️ Only pass when it is safe and legal
πŸ“± Put the phone down and stay focused

To our farmers: please make sure your equipment is properly marked and your lights are visible.

To everyone traveling our country roads: Share the road. Slow down. Get home safe.

From all of us at the Hooper Volunteer Fire District, have a safe and successful harvest season! πŸŒΎπŸš’

πŸš‘ Training Never Stops at Hooper Volunteer Fire District! πŸš’

Our EMTs were at the station putting in the work and practicing their IV skills as they work toward obtaining their Nebraska IV Certification! πŸ’‰

Hands-on training like this helps our members stay sharp, confident, and prepared to provide the best possible care when our community needs us most.

We’re proud of our EMTs for continuing their education and taking the time to better themselves and our department. Train today, be ready tomorrow! πŸ’ͺπŸš‘

πŸŽ† FIREWORK SAFETY REMINDER FROM THE HOOPER VOLUNTEER FIRE DISTRICT πŸŽ†

As we prepare to celebrate Independence Day, the Hooper Volunteer Fire District would like to remind everyone to enjoy fireworks safely and responsibly.

πŸš’ Firework Safety Tips:
β€’ Always have a bucket of water or a garden hose nearby.
β€’ Never allow young children to light fireworks without adult supervision.
β€’ Only light one firework at a time and move away quickly.
β€’ Never relight a firework that fails to go off.
β€’ Keep spectators at a safe distance.
β€’ Dispose of used fireworks by soaking them in water before throwing them away.
β€’ Never use fireworks while impaired by alcohol or drugs.
β€’ Be considerate of your neighbors, pets, and veterans who may be sensitive to loud noises.

πŸ“… City of Hooper Firework Ordinance Hours:
β€’ June 25 – July 3: 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM
β€’ July 4: 8:00 AM to 12:00 AM (midnight)

Please be respectful of these permitted times and help keep our community safe while celebrating our nation’s independence.

If an emergency occurs, call 911 immediately.

Have a safe and happy Fourth of July from your Hooper Volunteer Fire District! πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡ΈπŸŽ‡

Yesterday, members of the Hooper Volunteer Fire District, Nickerson Volunteer Fire Department, and the Hooper City Pool lifeguards had the opportunity to participate in specialized training provided by Clarkson College EMS Education.
The training focused on water emergencies, drowning recognition and response, and Stop the Bleed techniquesβ€”critical skills that can make a life-saving difference when seconds count.
We would like to thank Clarkson College EMS Education for sharing their knowledge and expertise, and all participants for their dedication to keeping our communities safe. Through continued training and collaboration, we are better prepared to respond when our community needs us most.
