We are very pleased to announce we have received funding to launch a Mobile Integrated Health program for the Eastern Kenai Peninsula "tri-communities" area (Hope, Cooper Landing and Moose Pass)! Please use the link or QR code in our flier to sign up for our mailing list for more information and to be included when our Community Needs Assessment goes live. This survey will allow you as a community member to give feedback on services and program design!

Girdwood is hosting a health fair in October! Blood draws, health screenings and seasonal vaccines available. If you are preparing for open enrollment, there will be assistance available for applying and selecting an insurance plan, and applying for other public assistance programs, as well.

Turnagain Community Health is partnering with Alaska Health Fair, Inc. to bring affordable health services, preventive care, and helpful community resources to Girdwood. We will be offering flu and COVID-19 vaccines during this event.

Today, on September 11th, we pause to remember the 25th anniversary of a day that changed our nation forever. The Alaska Division of Forestry & Fire Protection extends its deepest gratitude to the brave and tireless first responders who selflessly answered the call on that tragic day in 2001.

We'd also like to recognize the Alaska Interagency Incident Management Team, which deployed to assist in the response efforts at the World Trade Center. Their dedication is a powerful reminder of how we come together as a nation in times of crisis.
We honor the memory of those we lost and stand united with our nation, recognizing the courage, sacrifice, and resilience that emerged in the face of tragedy. Their legacy reminds us of the importance of community, service, and unwavering dedication.

We will never forget.

Reminder to our visitors and locals, alike this weekend. Though we have had a relatively wet summer, conditions have been steadily drying this week. Please ensure camp fires are monitored, kept small (3’x3’, in a fireproof ring) and are completely extinguished upon leaving your campsite or cabin. Thanks for keeping Hope safe!

It's going to get hotter and drier this week. Which means dry grass and bush, which makes it very easy for a fire to ignite 🔥

Thanks to Turnagain Community Health, Guardian Flight Alaska and LifeMed Alaska for joining Hope Sunrise Emergency Services at The Wagon Trail Race this year! HSES extended an invitation to these important health care partners to join us and share outreach materials about their services during the annual fundraiser. Primary care and medevac services are incredibly important when you live in a rural place like Hope, and we are so grateful to all three organizations for their community support!

Every year fires are started and injuries occur because of improper fireworks use. Please check with your community to make sure fireworks are allowed and follow safe handling practices. It's not worth losing your home or your life!
