The Hopkinton Police Department’s Facebook fan page was created by the department to facilitate the exchange of information with the public at large. To promote such exchange the department encourages and welcomes postings and comments from the general public about issues related to law enforcement in Hopkinton. With that said, however, the police department reserves the right to regulate the content of, and where necessary delete completely, any objectionable entry that appears on its fan page. The Hopkinton Police Department is responsible for monitoring all postings to its page and may take appropriate action whenever necessary, and at its sole discretion, to protect other fan page visitors from inappropriate or otherwise harmful information and links. To that end, the Hopkinton Police Department will remove as soon as feasible any posting that involves:


• Advertisements of any kind.

• Profane language or content.

• Content that promotes, fosters, or perpetuates discrimination on the basis of race, creed, color, age, religion, gender, marital status, status with regard to public assistance, national origin, physical or mental disability, or sexual orientation.

• Explicit or implied sexual content.

• Conduct implying, promoting, or encouraging illegal activity.

• Information that might compromise the safety or security of the public.

• Any other posting that, by its nature or content, might harm public welfare.

One of our local businesses has been targeted by online scammers, and unfortunately we have received several reports from non-residents who have been scammed by these individuals after wiring large amounts of money. The scammers have created a false website, page, and are utilizing AI to generate fake title documents, pictures of "employees", and the motorcycles listed for sale.

We urge our residents to be wary of any online sales, and encourage them to shop locally! The website depicted in this image is the fraudulent website. There is no affiliations to Bob's Motorcyles, a trusted business in this town for many years. We were able to remove the page and efforts are being made to remove the website.

High St (Rte 216) is currently closed from the CT line to Trinity Lutheran Church for a tree down across the roadway. Please seek an alternate route.

At last night’s Town Council meeting, Chief Carrier and members of the Hopkinton Police Department were proud to present a check for $4,371 to Dan and Stephanie Potts. The money was raised at our Second Annual Car Show, and will go towards supporting the Maddie Potts Foundation, who continue to provide amazing support to our community. To date, with support from the community, our department has donated $10,753 to this incredible organization.
