🖤💛 OUR FEARLESS LEADER: MRS. BURTON! 💛🖤

As we continue to celebrate National Principals Month, we’re celebrating the lady who keeps Park Magnet moving in the right direction! 👑

We all know Mrs. Burton as our fearless leader, but here are a few FUN FACTS about the woman behind the walkie-talkie! 🎤✨

🥤 Drink of Choice: Palm Beach with Cream from Central City Nutrition!

🍓 Sweet Treat: Strawberry PopTart from Community Bakery!

🎯 Favorite Place to Shop: TARGET! Because who doesn’t love a Target run?!

💅 Signature Style: Fun nail designs! Her nails always make a statement!

💎 Fashion Must-Have: Trendy jewelry! She’s always accessorized and ready to lead!

😂 Also Known As: BURTIS! If you know, you know!

Whether she’s rocking a fresh set of nails, sporting her latest jewelry find, or answering to “Burtis,” one thing is certain—Mrs. Burton leads with heart, style, and a whole lot of PARK PRIDE! 🖤💛

Help us show our fearless leader some LOVE this National Principals Month! We are so thankful for everything she does for our students, staff, and families!

We love you, Mrs. Burton! 👑🖤💛

On Thursday, the Master Gardeners helped kindergarten start their next ELA module, Once Upon a Farm, by letting students interview them to see what all it takes to plant, grow, and take care of a garden! They even got to plant their own seeds to check back on! 🌱

🔬 Mrs. Pennington’s third graders investigated how certain traits can give animals an advantage! We took a closer look at a pelican’s beak and used large and small spoons to model different beak sizes. Beads represented fish, and students had 30 seconds to see how many they could catch! 🐟 Afterward, we collected and compared our data to discover how different traits can help animals survive! 🐦

On Wednesday, Second Grade visited the Mid-America Science Museum for our Field Study! 🔬✨

As part of our Unit of Inquiry, How the World Works, students have been exploring inventors and inventions and investigating how innovations have changed over time. During our visit, students had the opportunity to make real-world connections, explore hands-on experiences, and put their learning to the test.
One of the highlights was the Tesla Show, where students observed the Tesla coil in action and connected what they saw to our learning about inventions, electricity, and innovation. It was an exciting day of curiosity, discovery, and learning! ⚡️

Poke Practice = Handwriting Practice!

Today we worked on our fine-motor skills by using a pen to carefully poke through dots. This activity may look like simple fun, but it is actually helping build the small hand and finger muscles needed for writing! As students poked each dot, they practiced hand strength, pencil control, hand-eye coordination, precision, and staying on a path.
