🥾 Hiking the Appalachian Trail? Please Use the Trailhead Parking Areas

If you’re planning to hike the Appalachian Trail and leave your vehicle for an extended period of time, please park in one of the designated trailhead parking areas rather than leaving your vehicle in downtown parking spaces.

Parking in Hot Springs is limited, and keeping long term hiker parking at the trailheads helps leave downtown spaces available for residents, visitors, and local businesses.

The Hot Springs Police Department also frequently patrols the trailhead parking areas as part of our regular patrols. While we cannot guarantee the security of any vehicle or personal property, these areas are routinely checked by our officers.

Thank you for helping us make the best use of our limited parking—and enjoy the trail! 🥾🏔️

The Hot Springs Police Department extends our deepest thoughts, prayers, and condolences to Thomas Stevenson’s family, friends, and loved ones following his death.

We know that many members of our community have been following this situation closely and care deeply for Thomas and his family. Out of respect for the family and those involved, we will not share any information that has not been officially confirmed.

Should information regarding a memorial service or other opportunity for our community to show its support become available and the family wishes for it to be shared publicly, we will help pass that information along.

Please continue to keep Thomas’s family and loved ones in your thoughts in the days ahead.

🚨 NOTICE: ABANDONED VEHICLES IN PUBLIC PARKING AREAS 🚨

The Hot Springs Police Department is asking for the community’s assistance regarding vehicles that have been left in public parking areas within the Town of Hot Springs.

If you own a vehicle—or know who owns a vehicle—that has been left in a public parking area for an extended period of time, please make arrangements to remove it immediately.

⚠️ Vehicles determined to be abandoned have less than 10 days to be removed. After the notice period expires, vehicles that have not been moved may be towed at the owner’s expense.

If you know someone who may have a vehicle parked in one of these areas, please share this information with them.

Our goal is to provide owners an opportunity to take care of their vehicles before towing becomes necessary.

Thank you for helping us keep our public parking areas safe, accessible, and available for our community and visitors.
