🌎➡️🌊 WHAT HAPPENS TO LITTER AFTER IT HITS THE GROUND?

It doesn’t always stay there.

💨 Wind can carry it from parking lots and roadsides.
🌧️ Rain can wash it into storm drains and ditches.
💧 From there, litter can travel into our bayous, rivers and coastal waters.

In fact, approximately 80% of marine debris starts as litter on land.

That means protecting our waterways starts before litter ever reaches the water. 🚯

🗑️ Put trash where it belongs.
🧤 Pick up litter when you see it.
🌧️ Keep storm drains and ditches clear.
💙 Join a cleanup and be part of the solution!

And this Saturday, you can do just that! 🌊
