Regional Military Museum Regional Military Museum To these great men and women, we owe a debt of gratitude. Our museum is not a static, but a living history.
(1)

Our museum is dedicated to the brave men and women throughout our country’s history who have defended our great nation, at home and abroad, that we may live in freedom. The goal of the Regional Military Museum is to commemorate their sacrifices made in behalf of all Americans - past, present, and future. We are ever inspired by the dedication of our local citizens who have so generously contributed to our endeavor, and to our museum staff and volunteers who have so tirelessly worked to amass, authenticate, and display our many military objects and artifacts. We strive to make your visit through our museum an enjoyable and memorable experience. Our vehicles really run, our weapons really fire, our library acts as a place of research for both family military history as well as educational instruction. Our veteran volunteers offer first-hand accounts of what it was really like to lay one’s life on the line to protect our loved ones and our way of life. We are constantly updating and expanding our collections and hope that you will return often to browse through our museum, our library, and our website.

The Regional Military Museum was well represented at the annual Explore Houma gathering! We had the pleasure of shaking hands with Lieutenant Governor, Billy Nungesser, visiting with him, and extending an invitation for him to visit the Museum. It was a wonderful opportunity to represent our Museum, share our mission, and help promote the history and heritage of our military heroes. We look forward to welcoming him to the Museum! Today we remember a patriot gone already two years but not forgotten, Will Theriot aka Will-Drow. Will devoted 20 years of his life to honoring and giving back to those who served our country.

He may not have worn the uniform himself, but he understood the meaning of service, sacrifice, and gratitude. He gave his time, his heart, and his dedication to making sure our Veterans were remembered and honored.

For that, I believe he truly earned the title “Champion of Veterans.”

His kindness, devotion, friendship and love for our Veterans touched many lives and left behind a legacy that will continue to live on.

May he continue to rest peacefully, knowing that his years of service and the love he showed to those who served will never be forgotten.

Rest in peace our dear friend.
Your service to those who served our country will always be remembered.
Gone from our sight, but never from our hearts.
