🔥 It’s Fire Prevention Week! 🚒
Our local fire departments are out in the community this week sharing important fire prevention and safety information. Be sure to check your local fire department’s social media pages for tips, events, and resources to help keep your family safe.

And from your 9-1-1 Telecommunicators, here are a few things we want you to remember if there is a fire:
📞 Call 9-1-1 as soon as you are safely outside.
📍 Know your location/address and give it to the call-taker first.
🔥 Tell us what is on fire: house, vehicle, brush, appliance, etc.
👥 Tell us immediately if anyone may still be inside or is injured.
🚫 Never go back inside for people, pets, or belongings.
📱 Stay on the line and answer the questions; help is already being sent.
🚒 Once outside, stay outside and keep a safe distance so firefighters can get to you quickly.

Prevent the fire when you can. Know what to do when you can’t. 🔥

🎧 BEHIND THE HEADSET | Meet TC Sabrina Harris

This week, we’re highlighting TC Sabrina Harris, one of our Call-Takers and Police Telecommunicators who recently celebrated one year of service!

Sabrina loves that no two days in 911 are ever the same and enjoys being able to make a real difference for the people she serves. When she’s off duty, you’ll likely find her working out, walking, or dreaming about a trip to the beach.

And when it comes to getting through a shift? Twizzlers are the snack of choice.

Thank you, Sabrina, for the care and dedication you bring to Jefferson County 911 Dispatch and our community each day!

🎧 “I love being able to help people in a very real way.”

Earlier this year, we launched a new tool that gives our community a quick and easy way to share feedback after certain interactions with our agency.

And we’ve been listening! Here are just a few of the things you’ve been saying about us. Thank you for trusting us to answer the call!
