This week is national digital citizenship week! 💻

Digital citizenship is a huge part of all of our daily lives as we interact online. We are all part of an online community, and an example of this would be how we are using Facebook.

In efforts to stop or block cyberbullying, students are spreading kindness! We can reverse the negativity and meanness of bullying (online and in person) by using kindness and help uplift others that may be victim to (cyber)bullying.

The first step when dealing with a cyberbully is to always tell a trusted adult. We use Netiquette by showing respect for others.

Each student had the opportunity to write down something kind on a paper strip, and add it to the "kindness chain" that is now as long as one of our hallways!

Encourage your child to do something kind for someone, and ask them what they wrote on the kindness chain?

We all have the power to create a positive and supportive online environment for everyone!
❤️🧡💛💚💙💜🩷

We have two more Staff Shoutouts for this week: Northwest High School librarian Melissa Ray, and Cedar Springs Elementary teacher Hillary Brand!

About Ms. Ray: Melissa has shown endless patience in answering my myriad of questions about ALL the things! She has been such a great resource for me, and I so appreciate her.

About Ms. Brand: Hillary is such a positive light in our school! She takes on challenges with a smile and consistently makes the best of every situation. No matter what the day brings, she always has a smile on her face and never has a bad word to say. Her positivity, patience, and ability to find the good in every situation are truly admirable. We are so lucky to have her on our team!

Thank you, Ms. Ray and Ms. Brand, for all you do!
