Our IT guys spend a lot of time fixing what’s on our computer screens, but they’re not usually the ones you see ON your screens. Today, Mike and Brad took center stage!

And calling them “IT guys” doesn’t come close to capturing the professional skills, knowledge and experience they bring to their work. They provide IT support for all of Fayette County government, and our health department is just one small part of what they do!

This morning, they provided staff training on using ShareFile and keeping our systems secure. Just a few hours later, Brad was back at FCPH to fix a computer issue!

They help keep our information safe, solve problems and make sure we have the tools we need to do our jobs. That means we can spend more time helping the people in our community.

Thanks, Mike and Brad, for all you do! We appreciate you!

It’s National Health Education Week!

Health education is about helping people gain the knowledge, skills and confidence to make informed decisions about their health.

At Fayette County Public Health, health education is woven into many of our programs and services, from disease prevention and maternal and child health to community outreach and wellness initiatives.

This week, we’re recognizing Janessa Williamson, RN, CLS, who serves as our health educator, along with all our team members who help educate, empower and connect Fayette County residents with resources for healthier lives.

Thank you for helping make health information accessible and meaningful to our community!

Happy Boss’s Day to our leadership team!

Leading a health department means balancing the needs of the people doing the work with those of the community we serve. Thank you for keeping both in view and for all you do to work towards the vision of a healthy Fayette County for all! 🩵

We’re wearing purple today for Purple Thursday! 💜

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month, and we’re joining others across the county and across the country in wearing purple to show our support for survivors and remind everyone that no one should have to face domestic violence alone.

It’s a simple way to show we care and help keep an important conversation going. 💜

Healthy habits start here! 👟🍎 We were honored to join our community partners from Fayette County Public Health, Students from Cedarville University, OSU Extension, and the Fayette County YMCA at the Team Tressel Fitness Challenge Assembly with Miami Trace Elementary and Middle Schools!

It was an incredible celebration watching students learn what it takes to become healthier, stronger versions of themselves. Thank you to Miami Trace for making us a part of this inspiring day—we love investing in the wellness and future of our local youth! 💪✨
