✨ New Hope Housing Avenue C Grand Opening ✨

Community Family Centers congratulates New Hope Housing on the Grand Opening of the Avenue C Housing Project — and we warmly welcome our new neighbors to the East End community!

“La Tercer Edad” has long been a treasured part of our CFC Familia, and we are excited about the opportunities ahead as we partner and collaborate with New Hope Housing to improve quality of life for our seniors and families. Together, we look forward to creating meaningful impact while ensuring this treasured generation can age in place with dignity, connection, and support.

We see exciting opportunities for multi-generational engagement through our Youth Programs, Community Gardens, and Seniors Wellness initiatives — building stronger families and a stronger community together.

Special thanks and congratulations to everyone who helped make this vision possible, including Houston City Council Member Joaquin Martinez, District I, Diana Gross and Casandra Riojas of New Hope Housing, Inc., and our friends Patricia Aguirre of Well Care Health and Gloria Medina Zenteno of Barrio Dogs, Monica Jimenez of Community Family Centers.

We cherish this community and look forward to all the good we will accomplish together!

Reliant volunteers recently partnered with Community Family Centers to help bring an inspiring vision to life, a brand new community closet designed to serve families in need.

With incredible energy and teamwork, volunteers sorted hundreds of clothing items, shoes, and donations, carefully organizing everything to create a welcoming and accessible space. They also rolled up their sleeves to assemble racks, box items, stock our food pantry, and ensure every detail was ready for those who will benefit from this resource.

This effort turned an idea into reality, one that will make a meaningful difference in the community for years to come.

💙 A huge thank you to our Reliant volunteers for your tremendous support, dedication, and heart for service! Your impact truly matters.

At Community Family Centers, our Youth Services Program is helping students grow with confidence every day at HISD and Galena Park ISD schools. Through academic support, enrichment activities, mentorship, and positive learning spaces, students are building skills that support success inside and outside the classroom.

Our team works alongside schools, families, and community partners to create opportunities that encourage learning, leadership, and personal growth. Every tutoring session, activity, and conversation helps students take meaningful steps toward a brighter future.

We are proud to support young people as they discover their strengths, stay engaged in school, and prepare for future success.

Students at Baker Ripley Community School are learning how to make healthy choices and use their creativity for good. CFC Youth Prevention Specialists recently presented to 6th, 7th, and 8th grade classes about the negative effects of va**ng and the importance of protecting their health and future.

After the presentation, students worked in teams to create anti-va**ng posters that encouraged their peers to stay informed and make positive decisions. One winning group from each class received a trophy and goodie bag to celebrate their hard work and leadership.

The trophies were designed and created by CFC’s STEAM Department. 🏆

Your support helps us continue provide opportunities that inspire confidence, learning, and brighter futures for East End youth.

Thank you to the Harris County Department of Education and the CASE for Kids team for welcoming us to your grant kickoff meeting in support of youth summer programs across Houston 🌟

This partnership helps power our Camp Fresh Summer Program, nine engaging weeks created by Community Family Centers and our dedicated team to support learning, confidence, and family well-being in Houston’s East End.

Through hands-on STEAM activities, group learning, and creative exploration, students will build skills that encourage curiosity, problem-solving, and self-sufficiency 🚀🔬

A special thank you to Larry Moses for your coordination and continued support. We are excited to put the Chemistry Kit and Group Games to great use with our summer campers!

Community Family Centers extends our sincere gratitude to Bank of America for its generous support of our Basic Needs Program and for the special invitation to the Partner Celebration at the The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston .

It was an inspiring evening honoring the legacy of Frida Kahlo — an artist whose story, resilience, and cultural heritage resonate deeply with our community and with the roots of Community Family Centers, originally founded as Chicano Training Centers.

We are grateful to celebrate alongside so many dedicated community leaders and partners working to strengthen Greater Houston, including Rick Jaramillo, Patti Abshire, Fiona Cheung, Dr. Frances Villagran-Glover, Houston City College, The Bridge Over Troubled Waters, Inc., Q Olivia Rivers, United Way of Greater Houston, Alliance of Community Assistance Ministries, Inc., Houston Food Bank, Brenda Pinero, Patricia Morales, and Dr. Melanie Johnson Collaborative for Children.

Thank you, Bank of America, for investing in organizations that uplift families, expand opportunity, and build stronger communities across Houston. We congratulate you on hosting such a beautiful and meaningful event.
