Dear Friends and Supporters,
Thank you.

You were invaluable during my U.S. Senate primary campaign. Your selfless volunteerism encouraged and energized me. Your votes validated our collective message.

You and thousands of Texans shared their personal stories with me every day of the campaign. I listened, and I heard you. That is how truths become self-evident and how the best policies emerge.

This is America: It is a democracy, not an autocracy. Your activism matters. We must continue to fight for the rights and issues prioritized in my campaign and for the success of our communities. We must clear the barriers preventing our neighbors from sharing in the strength of our national economy. We must ensure access to healthcare for women, the LGBTQ community, and veterans. We must demand safe and humane border-immigration policies. We must revitalize the DACA program and the DREAM Act. We must preserve our national security and ensure that relationships with our allies reflect our principles.

Our nation's longevity is due to people of diverse backgrounds working together with a fervent desire for fair dealings, equality, and inclusiveness. Genuine goodwill to others is the foundation of our democracy. I know you practice these principles. These are the core reasons for my sense of honor in representing you in this election.

Again, thank you for embracing my candidacy and your relentless work to further these shared values. Your "can do" attitude in the face of challenges embodies the finest Texan and American ideals.

Please keep at it, and I'll see you again!
Warm regards,
Steve Keough

“As I have traveled Texas, many of you have asked about the daily life of our U.S. Submariners. You have also heard me talk about the role of diversity, equity and inclusion in our armed forces. I often refer to that as our “secret sauce” of the U.S. Military. You’ve also heard me talk about the external threats to our national security.

In a recent Vanity Fair article the critical interrelation of these concepts is described in an exceptional piece about current life aboard the USS Wyoming, a ballistic missile submarine. I hope you find this interesting, and that it answers some of the questions that I did not fully address with you relating to subs, the military and our national security infrastructure.

“Truly enjoyed the interparty political forum Feb 29 at The University of the Incarnate Word! Also met with many students, including Joshua (USN Corpsman!) and Nathan (Medical ethics expert!). Student Moderators Abbie and Jacob did a great job and embodied the spirit of the Ettling Center for Civic Leadership and Sustainability. Thank you all for your hospitality and professionalism.” www.keoughforsenate.com

Amidst the torrent of border & immigration mis-information and racist commentary, a U.S. government factual report was published a few days ago. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) reported migrant groups have contributed almost $124 billion more than they have cost in government expenditures. At an individual level, migrant contribution closely resembles that of U.S.-born persons. Despite common stereotypes and narratives pushed by certain politicians and media, migrants have undeniably positive fiscal (and I would add cultural and public service) effects in the U.S. Although reform to our border and immigration laws is critically needed, the objective data in this report is very revealing. I invite you to read and decide for yourself. Thank you, Steve."
