National Fair Housing Month

The Fair Housing Act was signed into law on April 11, 1968. This landmark civil rights legislation was the result of years of individual and collective struggle against discrimination based on Race or Color, National Origin, Religion, S*x, Familial Status and Disability. The Fair Housing Act prohibits this and provides an equal opportunity for all.

The Harris County Housing Authority honors the Fair Housing Act during the National Fair Housing month of April and all throughout the year.
