Cuney Homes Basketball Court Renovation
Our ceremony at the Cuney Homes Basketball Court was a great way to kickstart all that’s to come for Cuney Homes. The kids at Cuney Homes were filled with excitement when Basketball Court Muralist Henry Agim () opened the first can of paint to start creating the new court mural. Sakara Ross (Owner, SNR Construction) and Folade Madzimoyo (HHA, Community Engagement Coordinator) joined in on the fun and helped to prime the court. The youth at Cuney Homes learned about the importance of higher education and preparing for their career future. HHA partnered with E.D.U.C.A.T.E. Inc to host the College & Career Readiness Learn and Earn event. This program provides educational support services for middle and high school.
E.D.U.C.A.T.E. Inc is traveling across the U.S. for these events. The goal is to make an impact on students to encourage continued learning and education. As a bonus, their stop in Houston included taking kids to the Texas Southern vs. Grambling game to close out their experience.
