Thank you to everyone who joined and supported us for the Emergency Aid Coalition's annual gala and auction! We are honored to have so many points of light championing the mission of the EAC. Through dinner, auctions and shared purpose, the evening makes possible the essential work of the EAC, and bridges the gap between despair and hope for Houston families facing crisis and food insecurity.
The Lights in the City Gala & Auction honored The Hamill Foundation for being ashining ray of hope for the Houston community, and for their unwavering
commitment to the programs provided by the EAC. All of our friends, partners, and supporters ensure that our Houston neighbors receive the care and respect they deserve.

IMMANUEL MAR THOMA CHURCH
300 turkey and cheese sandwiches were generously prepared, individually wrapped, and lovingly delivered to the Emergency Aid Coalition by members of Immanuel Mar Thoma Church. Hungry EAC clients are grateful for the sustenance and the gesture of goodwill

The Family Garden inside McGovern Centennial Gardens in Hermann Park is an edible, interactive garden, designed to showcase vegetables, herbs, fruit, citrus, and berries that can be grown successfully in the Houston area. Children of all abilities are invited to participate in cultivating these beds, and to experience the touch, the scents, the colors, and the taste of fresh vegetables and herbs. Each week, fresh vegetables grown in the garden are donated to the EAC and are distributed to EAC clients.

Food Pantry at Avenue J
The EAC recently began operating the food pantry at NHH Avenue J, located near the East End. This pet-friendly community offers affordably priced apartment homes for individuals and families with modest incomes. Avenue J is the 5th food pantry currently operated by the EAC, giving us even more ways to reach our Houston neighbors in need!

POST Houston donated surplus boxes of travel-sized deodorants to the EAC after hosting the Fleet Week Expo. POST is a vibrant center for culture, food and entertainment located in the former Barbara Jordan Post Office in downtown Houston.
