I started this page years back. I have since promoted to Captain and I am now at a new station, however; I am still one of the administrqtors for this page. I'm constantly receiving messages on what people can do to help. First, if it is not safe for you to get out, PLEASE stay home because we do not need any more people to rescue. Our guys have worked long hours (some 3 days straight) with no releif crews. The city has made attempts to provide food, but their first priority is the victim's right now. If you feel compelled to bring food to first responders and Volunteers that are assisting in the rescue efforts, then do so. Listed below are a few of our command posts with multiple agencies that are staged from across the state and country. Once again please do not risk your safety!!! God Bless Texas!!

On behalf of station 6,a big THANK YOU to everyone!! We have been contacted by a pet adoption agency. We feel this will be the best course of action for Miley as they will be better suited at matching her up with the perfect family!

Help needs a home! The Houston Fire Department Station 6 responded to a call last night on 1-10 near Heights Blvd. Upon arrival they found an elderly gentleman whose pacemaker was shorting out and the gentleman was having some serious health issues. However the man was worried more about his little dog than himself. Engine 6-A assured the man that HFD would take care of him and his dog and not to worry we were here to help! Today unfortunately the gentleman called advising me his health was not good and his only family was a brother in Dallas and is unable to locate him. He asked me to find a shelter that would take care of his dog. I assure the gentleman his dog would not go to a shelter and the members assigned to station 6 will find his dog a good home and will let him know the outcome. HFD does not allow pets in its Fire Stations we really need a good home for this little K-9 If you know of someone who can give him a good home please call Station 6 713.864.8990 It is a small female (Terrier - Chihuahua mix) who is house trained appears in good health up to date on rabies-she is very sweet!
