I've just been notified that I will be receiving a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Association for Conflict Resolution on September 17, 2017, at the Association's gala at the Junior League of Houston. I am thrilled to be in the company of my friends, Laury Adams, Judge Frank Evans, Dr. Barbara Manuosso, Judge Josefina Rendon and Judge Alvin Zimmerman, among others. The Houston Chapter of the Association for Conflict Resolution will be celebrating 20 years as the professional organization for mediators, arbitrators and other ADR professionals. I was also delighted to see that my friend and fellow mediator and family attorney, Daniel N. Gray will be the Master of Ceremonies for the gala. I hope to see many of my friends there to help me celebrate this singular honor.

I was very pleased last week to be elected Chair of the Collaborative Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. We have a very challenging job ahead of us to raise the awareness of the bar and public about the collaborative alternative.

After many years of doing basic Interdisciplinary Collaborative Law training, my training team will begin presenting advanced courses in Texas this Spring.

I'm working on redoing my website, so if it starts looking different, you'll know I'm making progress.

Now that I'm not traveling as much as I was when I was more involved in the IACP, I have time available to do more mediations. Since I moved to my new offices (sharing space with my friend Brenda Keen) I have two lovely, comfortable rooms to accommodate mediation clients. Call me if you need to get a mediation scheduled with short notice. I just may be able to fit you in.

Finally got my business page up. Looking forward to keeping you all updated on what's going on in Collaborative Practice. Big news right now -- the formation of the Collaborative Law Section of the Texas Bar. I hope all my Texas collaborative lawyer friends will join and show their support for CL.
