As the Education Assistants, Chris and Katie support Rice’s Basic and Advanced EMT courses by guiding students through skill practice and core coursework. They mentor future generations of EMTs, providing hands-on instruction and encouragement to prepare students for field readiness.

As the Field Training Assistants, Esteban, Tori, and Jordan prepare new REMS members to become confident providers by delivering comprehensive drills and lectures on clinical guidelines and standard operating procedures. They oversee recruitment, onboarding, and team integration, ensuring every provider feels clinically confident and logistically prepared.

As CPR Coordinator, Vijay helps manage the logistics of REMS’ CPR program by facilitating classes and maintaining equipment. He actively teaches First Aid and CPR classes while mentoring aspiring instructors through the certification process to strengthen the program’s reach.

“The most meaninful part of REMS for me is the people. Every shift I’m on or every event and class I help with, I am constantly surrounded by amazing teammates who are passionate about the work we do and the community we serve. I am so grateful to be part of such a special organization.“
