Welcome to Troop 599, located at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church in Houston, Texas. Founded i Troop meetings start at 7:30pm.
Founded in 1967, Troop 599 is a large Boy Scout Troop with over 40 years of Scouting done right. While adults do provide much guidance to Scouts, Troop 599 is proud to be a boy-run, boy-led Troop. The Troop's large size gives Scouts more opportunities to have fun, and more importantly teaches Scouts vital leadership skills by having to work with each other as part of a large organization. Another great summer camp in the books! 18 Scouts and 5 adults enjoyed wonderful Camp Buck Toms in Rockwood, Tennessee. Ranger Billy even requested the boys all sign a 599 thunderbird for him!

Congratulations to the newest Troop 599 Order of the Arrow (OA) members, Ben G. & Wyatt B.! OA is the National Honor Society of Scouting America, designed to recognize Scouts and Scouters who embody the Scout Oath and Law in their daily lives. Thank you Ben and Wyatt for your service!

Tenderfoot Scout Davis W. rappels down a 40’ vertical rock face of Turkey Peak during our January outing to Enchanted Rock. Rappelling can be intimidating, but all the new scouts really faced their fears head on!

First campout of the school year, and first Boy Scout campout for our newest Scouts! You all did great! 17 Scouts and 10 adults enjoyed beautiful weather and great canoeing down the upper San Marcos River.

The boys did great tonight at the district “Meet the Troops” night hosted right here in the Troop 599 Scout lodge. The lodge was packed with lots of younger Scouts exploring for a new home once they crossover from Cub Scouts. They told several dozen Webelos and their families about the great things 599 has to offer! Great job guys!

Our May merit badge workshop was a success! The Scouts cooked breakfast before beginning a day of merit badge classes at the Troop 599 Scout Lodge. That's a mighty fine looking breakfast!
