🏃‍♀️🌈 Girls on the Run: Color Run 5K! 🌈🏃‍♀️

Our Burnett Girls on the Run team had a COLORFUL and unforgettable time participating in the Color Run 5K hosted by Freeman Elementary! Our girls showed determination, perseverance, and plenty of school spirit as they crossed the finish line and celebrated this amazing accomplishment together!

A HUGE thank-you to our incredible teacher coaches who came out to support and cheer on our girls: Ms. Vidal, Mrs. Wells, Ms. Dominguez, Mrs. Graham, and Ms. Medina! Your time, dedication, and encouragement make such a difference in the lives of our students!

We are so proud of our Burnett girls for showing up, supporting one another, and running with confidence and heart! 💙🦫💙

A Lesson in Leadership & Legacy!

Our Burnett Student Council had the incredible opportunity to take part in the dedication ceremony celebrating the naming of the Marie Flickinger Administration Building, home to many important services that support and serve the Southbelt community.

Our students were honored to meet and hear from so many influential community leaders, including Commissioner Adrian Garcia, Constable Jerry Garcia, Judge Delgado, PISD Superintendent Dr. Toni Lopez, PISD Chief of Schools Dr. Alyta Harrell, and many other distinguished guests.

Being present for such a meaningful occasion allowed our Student Council members to see firsthand the lasting impact that strong leadership, service, and dedication can have on an entire community. Experiences like these remind our students that leadership isn’t just about holding a position—it’s about serving others, making a difference, and leaving a positive legacy.

We are so proud of our Student Council and grateful for opportunities that allow our students to learn, grow, and connect with the leaders who are shaping our community. 💙🦫💙

We are excited to welcome the Teaching Practicum students from CTHS Pasadena ISD to Burnett Elementary for the 5th year, as they gain valuable field experience alongside our amazing teachers and students!

A special thank you to their incredible teacher, Mrs. Thomas, for guiding and inspiring these future educators as they explore the teaching profession.

We are proud to partner with CTHS to provide authentic field experiences that allow these students to learn, observe, ask questions, and discover the areas of education they are most passionate about pursuing. There is nothing quite like experiencing the joy and impact of education firsthand! 💙🦫💙

Today was the first day of trying out our new Universal Beaver Time, and we couldn’t be more excited about what we saw happening across our campus!

It truly was all hands on deck as our incredible support staff jumped in to pull groups, provide targeted support, and help meet students exactly where they are.

From foundational skills to enrichment and extension, differentiated learning was happening on every level! Our teachers and support staff worked together to make sure students were receiving the instruction and support they need to grow and succeed.

This is what teamwork, collaboration, and putting students first looks like! 💙🦫💙

As we kick off the month of October, we are excited to begin celebrating our very own Mr. Lee for Principal’s Month!

Mr. Lee is so much more than a principal. He is a servant leader, a passionate educator, and a true champion for the Burnett community. His kindness, caring heart, sense of humor, and unwavering dedication make a lasting impact on our students, staff, and families.

Whether he’s building relationships throughout our community, bringing laughter to our campus, supporting his staff, or doing whatever it takes to ensure our students have what they need to succeed, Mr. Lee leads with heart and purpose. He consistently puts people first and works tirelessly to do what is best for our entire Burnett family.

Mr. Lee, thank you for leading with compassion, serving with purpose, and showing us every day what it means to be a leader who truly cares. We are grateful for your passion, your positivity, and the countless ways you make Burnett Elementary a special place to learn and grow!

Help us celebrate Principal Lee all month long! Drop a 💙🦫💙in the comments to show him some love!
