It is very important that we do right by the interpreters and Afghani nationals and their families that helped serve with us during Operation Enduring Freedom and Operation Freedom's Sentinel.

Today, we honor SFC Latoucha Green, a member of our full time staff for decades that tragically lost her life at the end of 2019, as well as every other Soldier in our unit to give their lives for their country in the service of, or as a current or former unit member of 72nd IBCT. We miss their presence, all.
We will be live streaming SFC LaToucha Green's memorial service on this page on Sunday, January 10th at 1330. Please stay tuned.

We are incredibly saddened to report the death of one of our own, SFC Latoucha Green.
SFC Green spent over 10 years of her career in various functions of 72nd IBCT, serving as a crucial part of our full-time medical staff, and assisting in ensuring the readiness of the Soldiers in our unit. She was a beloved member of our unit, a leader to her Medics and our Soldiers in general, and a warm, generous spirit that spent much of her free time volunteering with the USO and other military non-profit organizations.
She is survived by her mother, ex-husband, and three children and will be missed dearly.
SFC Green's viewing will be held at Unity Jones Funeral Home - 866 West Claiborne St., Monroeville AL 36460 on December 17th from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, and her funeral will be held on December 18th at 2:00 PM at the same location.
For those who are not able to attend her viewing and funeral in Alabama, a unit memorial will be held in San Antonio on January 10th. The location is TBD - watch this page for updates. Transportation details for Soldiers, veterans, and limited family members from Houston to San Antonio is being arranged. We will also be streaming the unit memorial for those unable to attend in person and will be putting out details on how to access the live feed within the next week or so. Please reach out to 1LT Megan Hurwitt for details - (713) 480-9288.
If you are a member or family member of the National Guard and need to talk to someone, please do not hesitate to reach out to our counseling services. They can be found at (512) 782-5069.
