Harris County District Attorney Sean Teare dropped in on several National Night Out celebrations.

Together we can strengthen communities – building not only partnerships, but also trust and resilient relationships. Let's continue working together, partnering to promote public safety, creating stronger neighborhoods across Harris County. While a single night brings us together, a single goal – having a safe, strong community – should encourage us to commit to uniting no matter what the calendar says.

On February 2, 2025, a gunman entered a Houston convenience store, pointed a gun at the clerk, and robbed the shop at gunpoint.

Prosecutors proved in court that Bubacarr Conteh held up the store. During the punishment phase of trial, evidence was presented showing Conteh went on a crime spree that night.

Conteh first forced three women who had just parked their vehicle out of the car at gunpoint and robbed them of their belongings. He then drove the stolen car to rob the convenience store, where he carried out the armed robbery.

As deputies closed in on Conteh, he jumped from the vehicle and opened fire on them. He was arrested after deputies returned fire.

Jurors have found Conteh guilty of Aggravated Robbery with a Deadly Weapon. Conteh has been sentenced to 60 years in prison.
