📢 HOUSTON: Big changes coming to heavy trash pickup!

Starting March 2, Houston residents will need to call 311 to schedule heavy trash collection instead of waiting for regular pickup days.

Here’s what you need to know:

📞 Call 311 to request pickup
📅 Collection completed within 5 working days
📸 You’ll receive photos confirming completion
4️⃣ Each address gets up to 4 pickups per calendar year
✅ You’ll get a call or email with your appointment

WHY THE CHANGE?
The city says the old system wasn’t working. Crews were driving every street, even ones with no trash set out? causing major delays and backlogs.

“We’re riding streets that have no heavy trash on them, and we’re spending weeks there,” said Solid Waste Director Larius Hassen.

Until March 2, the normal schedule remains in place.
