My newest play I'm working on:

"Friends with Oars" a play about a prodigal fued. By Jess Helmke (following note is loose plot structure)

1990's or early 2000's. Setting is Chicago, Illinois and Lake Michigan. Summer. Male protagonist.

Prologue:

A man, Rainey, 35, stands at the edge of a row dock on Lake Michigan.

"The lonliness of a man. Is obvious. It is the appearance of traveling. When a man never actually moves."

Exposition: young mobster adult in childhood.
Initial Incident: a wedding question.
Rising Action: protagonist (appearing to (almost) break the fourth wall, speaks to an imaginary character [at Soliloquy moments] and 'real' life scenes.
Climax: the prodigals of gangs (ed. Maybe) have a sailing race.
Falling Action: [literary term for ignorant characters a. Discovering or b. Uncovering (a) or (the) truth.
Denouement: a party on a Chicago street or intersection.
Resolution/conclusion: it's just a try.
