This summer, RO Houston sent off three of our unit members on to their next assignments. Ensign Palazuelos, Ensign Ndiffer, and Chief Bartley.

We are extremely proud and grateful for these three members assisting our team in exceeding our mission over the last two years. We wish them fair winds and following seas!

As America’s maritime first responder, the U.S. Coast Guard is prepared to respond to crises or contingencies that may come with little or no warning by sustaining our readiness. From hurricanes to maritime disasters to humanitarian crises, we leverage our full range of capabilities to save Americans in need. Our responders save more than 5,000 lives every year.

Last weekend, Coast Guard members continued that legacy, responding to the tragic floods in central Texas and saving or assisting more than 200 people on the ground. Today, the crew of Coast Guard MH-65E helicopter 6553 was recognized by President Donald J. Trump and Secretary Kristi Noem for their courage and dedication.

America depends on the Coast Guard when the stakes are highest. On the worst of days, we are proud to stand shoulder to shoulder with our federal, state, and local response partners. We extend our sympathies to the victims and families impacted by last week’s catastrophic flooding, and continue to stand with the people of Texas.
