East Harris County Empowerment Council was proud to sponsor and participate in the Swinging for Success Golf Tournament Fundraiser hosted by Communities In Schools - Baytown. We had an incredible time meeting golfers, community partners, educators, and supporters who all came together for one important cause: helping local students thrive.

Congratulations to all of the tournament's top-scoring golfers and to the lucky winners of our EHCEC raffle prizes! A special shoutout goes to Jeff Romig, an athletic trainer for Sheldon ISD who took home our featured wedge club prize for precision on the green. 🏌️‍♂️👏

We also applaud the creative students who featured their artwork in the silent auction. The talent and imagination on display drew enthusiastic bidding and served as a wonderful reminder of why investing in students matters.

Thank you, CIS-Baytown, for hosting such a meaningful event and to everyone who helped make the day a success. Together, we're building stronger opportunities for students and families across the region.

A fantastic day on the green at Stonebridge At Newport in .

Our team members America Mederes (left) and Jose Padron (right) had an amazing experience attending the recent Healthy Futures of Texas Symposium in Round Rock.

It was a dynamic networking and professional development experience for health professionals, educators, advocates, and community leaders from across Texas to share ideas, resources, and strategies focused on adolescent and women’s sexual and reproductive health. Our team had the opportunity to learn from incredible sessions covering topics like STI screening for adolescents and responding to disclosures of relationship violence.

Pictured in the middle, it was also exciting to connect with Nia Kimbrough from Harris County Public Health - "Community Resources" and celebrate the strong partnership work happening right here in our community. Collaborations like these help us continue building healthier, safer futures for youth and families.

A first look inside the new EHCTX Leadership Hub! Our amazing EHCEC volunteers were among the very first to tour this exciting new space designed to connect our community with technology, opportunity, and digital skills.

Thanks to our incredible partnership with Comcast, the Leadership Hub now features fully equipped computer workstations and professional digital navigators ready to help residents access technology, build confidence online, and strengthen their digital skills.

This is what digital equity looks like in action: creating opportunities, expanding access, and helping close the digital divide across East Harris County. We’re grateful to Comcast for investing in our community and helping make this vision a reality!

A laptop may look small on a stage. But to a student? It can mean opportunity, confidence, and a future that suddenly feels possible.

At Channelview High School, 99 students recently walked away with more than a computer. They took away tools to apply for internships, complete schoolwork, build skills, and stay connected to opportunity.

East Harris County Empowerment Council is proud to stand with our partners AT&T, Compudopt, State Representative Ana Hernandez, and Channelview ISD educators who believe every student deserves access to the technology needed to succeed in today’s world.

From smiles in the auditorium to students carrying out their new devices with excitement and pride, this was a reminder of what happens when a community comes together with purpose.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this day possible and to the students who continue to inspire us every single day.

What advice would you give these students to help shape their future? Drop it below! ⬇️

đź’ˇWhat if middle school girls could start building their future success today?

At Females, Fun & Finance, students from Sheldon ISD and Channelview ISD explored real-life lessons about money, education, career goals, and the power of planning ahead!

From interactive budgeting activities and conversations about wants vs. needs to career exploration and a tour of the Lee College campus, these young women gained valuable tools to help shape their futures with confidence. 🎓💼✨

A huge thank you to our incredible partners CenterPoint Energy, Elevation Care, Harris County Public Library , Take Care of Texas , and Workforce Solutions Gulf Coast for helping empower the next generation through financial literacy and career awareness. Together, we’re investing in brighter futures for our community’s young leaders.
