National Vietnam War Veterans Day was formally established by the Vietnam War Veterans Recognition Act of 2017, designating March 29 each year as a day to honor these veterans and commemorate the date in 1973 when the last U.S. combat troops departed Vietnam. 🕊️🇺🇸

On this day, we think about what it means to walk together. Not ahead. Not behind. Side by side. Justice is not a solo act. It is a chorus. It is faith meeting faith. It is courage choosing love when fear would be easier. Dr. King taught us that the march never really ends. The road simply changes hands. Today we remember. Tomorrow we show up. That is how the dream stays alive. 🙏🏾❤️

A call with Valerie James of VAST TEXAS consistently proves productive for Veteran's Progress & Recovery Services. Today's Overdose Prevention and Education session, as a certified Peer Support Specialist, was insightful and underscored the significant work that remains. Our initial step involves the ability to administer Naloxone to individuals, which can rapidly restore breathing during an opioid overdose.

As healthcare professionals within the United Healthcare Community Plan of Texas Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS), Veteran's Progress & Recovery Services has been nominated and selected for this year's REACH Award in recognition of our exceptional dedication to our clients. 🏆 This prestigious award is granted to only one recipient per Texas Medicaid service delivery area (SDA).
