Westfield Fire Department responded to a grass fire on the 11700 block of the Eastex Freeway southbound feeder. Upon arrival, pipemen worked quickly to contain and extinguish the fire, preventing further spread.
Following an on-scene investigation, the cause was determined to be exposed live electrical wires igniting the surrounding grass.
The fire was brought under control without incident, and no injuries were reported.
