Dear Freeman Community,

It is with incredibly heavy hearts that we share the passing of longtime Harris County Public Library and Clear Lake City-County Freeman Branch Library staff member Janette Larson. Janette began her career at Freeman Library 28 years ago, at the old building across the parking lot. For 28 years, she was a fixture in our community, answering reference questions, helping with technology, and running book clubs. She loved the library, helping people, and reading (especially Science Fiction).

If you have memories of Janette, or condolences you would like to share, we are collecting cards and notes to give to her family. You can bring cards, or we will have materials at the 2nd floor Reference Desk.

There will never be another person quite like Janette, and we were lucky to have her with us for so long. She will be missed and never forgotten.
