HONORING TRADITIONS. CARING FOR OUR CEMETERY. ❤️

At Historic Hollywood Cemetery, we recognize that decorating a loved one’s resting place is a special way to celebrate their memory, honor traditions, and keep their love close.

We’ve heard your feedback, and we want to make it easier for families to stay informed and plan ahead. With that in mind, we’re happy to introduce our 2026 Holiday Decorating Calendar!

We kindly remind families to collect their decorations before the scheduled clearing dates. Any remaining decorations may be removed and discarded in accordance with our Rules and Regulations.

We encourage you to follow our social media pages, where we regularly share important announcements, cemetery updates, and helpful reminders. Keeping your contact information up to date with our office also helps us stay connected with you!

Looking ahead, we hope to make planning even easier by sharing an updated Holiday Decorating Calendar each January, beginning in 2027.

Historic Hollywood Cemetery was pleased to attend the Moody Park Master Plan Community Meeting on Wednesday evening!

Located just across the bayou from our cemetery, Moody Park has long been part of the surrounding neighborhood. It was wonderful to join community members, Harris County Precinct 2 Commissioner Adrian Garcia , and local organizations like FMP to learn more about the park’s future and share in conversations about the community we call home.

We’re grateful for the opportunity to stay connected with our neighbors and be part of the conversation about the future of this historic Houston neighborhood. 🌿

Our cemetery-wide cleanup is officially complete 🌿

Over the past several weeks, our team has worked garden by garden throughout Historic Hollywood Cemetery to care for our grounds and ensure cemetery guidelines are followed consistently across the property.

Thank you to our families and visitors for your patience and cooperation throughout this process. As we move forward, we ask that cemetery guidelines continue to be followed when decorating your loved one’s resting place.

DECORATING BEGINS OCTOBER 23! 🎃🌼

Families are invited to begin decorating for HALLOWEEN AND DÍA DE LOS MU***OS starting OCTOBER 23. We love seeing the cemetery filled with meaningful, colorful tributes that celebrate and remember loved ones.

Decorations may remain through NOVEMBER 8, so families have plenty of time to visit and enjoy them throughout the holiday period.

We can’t wait to see how you honor your loved ones this season. 🤍

Families: we are anticipating a large service this afternoon in our Faith Garden from around 2pm-4pm today, Saturday, October 3rd.

We will have both sides of the hills coned off to prepare for the coordinated funeral procession. 🛑

If you are flexible in visiting your Loved One today, we welcome you before or after the service.

We appreciate the help in allowing this family space to say goodbye today.

Our cleanup is still ongoing throughout Historic Hollywood Cemetery. 🌿

If your area has not been cleaned yet, please know our team is continuing to make its way through the cemetery in sections. As we move through each area, items that are not within cemetery rules and regulations will continue to be removed.

Have you ever wondered why the roads at Historic Hollywood Cemetery are so narrow? 🚙🌿

When the cemetery was established in 1895, its roads were designed for horse-drawn carriages, with some following the shoreline of a lake that was later filled in during the 1920s. A portion of the original brick road still remains today, giving visitors a special glimpse into Hollywood’s earliest years!

Because burial spaces, monuments, and historic features now closely surround these original roadways, they cannot be widened without disturbing important pieces of the cemetery’s history. Our narrow roads are just one of the many unique features that make Historic Hollywood Cemetery so special 🤍
