Republican Candidate for State Representative

Pam Holm 09/30/2011

“When Beverly Woolley decided not to seek re-election, I received an outpouring of support from friends and supporters asking me to consider a run,” said Holm. “After much thought and prayer, I am ready to formally announce my candidacy for House District 136. Our district needs to ensure that its next representative will continue in Rep. Woolley’s conservative footsteps, remain rooted in our community, and can understand and provide solutions to the problems facing our state.”

Holm announced her candidacy before a crowd of nearly 200 supporters, including Rep. Woolley, Susan and Larry Kellner, Fred Zeidman, Penny and John Butler, and Cynthia and Kendall Miller.

Pam is the past president of her homeowners association, where she first advocated for the needs of her neighbors and worked with local government to improve their quality of life. From there, she served three terms on the Houston City Council, representing the west side of Houston.

During her tenure on the City Council, Pam brought more transparency to the budget process and opposed appropriations that included wasteful spending. She was a committed full-time member, who participated in every key committee. She worked closely with state legislators on transportation and budget issues facing the city.

Pam is a product of Houston public schools and graduated from TCU with a degree in education. She spent eight years teaching and has remained an advocate for children's well-being. Pam and her husband Chuck have been married for 41 years. Their son Nelson and his wife Courtney live in Ft. Worth with their two children, Hudson and Eleanor.
