Planned Community Developers (PCD) has closed on the 120-acre site for The Orchard, a new mixed-use destination that will bring retail, dining, entertainment, office, residential, and hospitality opportunities to Pearland.

We're excited to welcome Thorpe Specialty Services to Pearland as they break ground on their new Center of Excellence in Lower Kirby.

Thorpe's investment brings high-quality jobs, expanded operations, and a long-term commitment to our community. The new facility will serve as a hub for the company's engineering, manufacturing, warehouse, and operational support teams.

This project reflects the power of strong partnerships. Since 2022, PEDC has worked alongside Welcome Group to redevelop underutilized property in Lower Kirby. Through strategic infrastructure and site development investments, Welcome Group has consolidated 25 acres and committed to creating more than 250,000 square feet of modern office, manufacturing, and warehouse space.

We are proud to welcome Thorpe to Lower Kirby and look forward to seeing their continued growth in our community.

Pearland is excited to welcome Plant Process Equipment to the SH 35 Corridor!

Plant Process Equipment (PPE), a subsidiary of Plant Process Group, has completed the buildout on its new 30,000‑sq‑ft facility in Edge Industrial Park, bringing their advanced engineering, fabrication, and modular plant expertise to Pearland.

Edge Industrial Park is a 36-acre development at the southwest corner of SH 35 & McHard, developed by Stewart Development.

PEDC and the City of Pearland began working with Stewart Development in 2023 to provide infrastructure & site development assistance. This development is a key part of the SH 35 redevelopment plan, boosting investment, attracting businesses, and creating jobs for our community.

The next chapter of Pearland’s workforce development is here with the 2027–2031 Workforce Strategy Action Plan.

Building on the strong foundation established through the Pearland Prosperity Plan and the 2022–2025 Workforce Strategy Action Plan, this new five‑year plan reflects the voices of more than 70 stakeholders and the collaborative leadership of PEDC and the Pearland Chamber of Commerce.

The updated plan focuses on three key goals that will shape Pearland’s workforce future:
- Employer Support – Helping local employers attract, retain, and grow talent.
- Education & Career Exploration – Strengthening alignment between educators and employers to expand career pathways.
- Workforce Resources – Equipping Pearland residents with the skills and connections needed to thrive in a competitive economy.

With this adoption, Pearland is taking the next big step toward a future-ready workforce, one that supports local businesses, empowers residents, and strengthens long-term economic vitality.
