The Dent's lab latest review is out in press and we are very happy to share PDFs with whoever is interested in our insights on histone acetylation!
Now open: Evolving insights to the roles of lysine acetylation in chromatin organization and function Chen et al. dive into the mechanisms and dynamics of protein acetylation in chromatin organization and DNA-templated processes, including gene transcription and DNA repair and replication. Newly discovered roles of acetylation regulators in chromatin-centric events have implications for human disea...

Now that we survived the we can finally share the latest Dent Lab paper on USP22 :) This paper is the result of Xianghong Kuang Xianghong's hard work with the help of many past and current lab members. It is also the last paper our lab is publishing from . So if you want to find out if is an or not, read our exciting data!
Usp22 Overexpression Leads to Aberrant Signal Transduction of Cancer-Related Pathways but Is Not Sufficient to Drive Tumor Formation in Mice - PubMed Usp22 overexpression is observed in several human cancers and is correlated with poor patient outcomes. The molecular basis underlying this correlation is not clear. Usp22 is the catalytic subunit of the deubiquitylation module in the SAGA histone-modifying complex, which regulat...

We are excited to share with you our most recent review article on the complex functions of Gcn5 and Pcaf in development and disease. We are also extremely honored to contribute to BBA's Special Issue entitled "Gcn5: the quintessential HAT" edited by Dr. Vikki Weake. The Special Issue is dedicated to the memory of Susan Abmayr and features a list of excellent reviews on Gcn5 and SAGA, that we highly recommend! Lia Koutelou Sharon Dent
Complex functions of Gcn5 and Pcaf in development and disease A wealth of biochemical and cellular data, accumulated over several years by multiple groups, has provided a great degree of insight into the molecula…

A high resolution structure of SAGA has been solved by two different groups and the video is beautiful! Interestingly, the HAT module is playing hide and seek! I also have a new respect for Taf5!
Happy Holidays from the Dent Lab!
