The Civic Heart team believes that sometimes the strongest thing you can do is pause… breathe… and take care of YOU.
In a world that constantly demands more, many people are silently carrying stress, pressure, exhaustion, and emotional weight while still showing up for everyone else. But the truth is you cannot pour from an empty cup.
Making your mental health a priority is not weakness. Rest is not laziness. Protecting your peace is not selfish.
At Civic Heart, we believe healing, wellness, and self-care matter just as much as the work we do for our community. Today, give yourself permission to slow down, reset, and breathe.
You deserve the same care, love, and grace that you so freely give to others. 💙

“Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day. Teach a man to fish and you feed him for a lifetime.”
Civic Heart’s Fathers First Program is setting standards, changing lives, and empowering fathers to build stronger futures for themselves and their families. This is more than a program it’s real impact, real growth, and real change happening every day.

Today our Civic Heart family experienced a tremendous loss with the passing of Carl Kidd.
As CEO, my heart is deeply saddened by this news. Carl was a friend and someone whose presence, spirit, and impact touched the lives of many people around him. Moments like this remind us that our work is not only about programs and services, but about people, relationships, and the lives we help shape every single day.
On behalf of Civic Heart Community Services, I extend my sincerest condolences and prayers to the Kidd family and to everyone grieving this loss. We stand with them during this difficult time and will continue to keep them lifted in prayer.
Although words can never fully ease the pain of losing someone, I hope the family finds comfort in knowing that Carl’s life made a meaningful difference and that his memory will continue to live on through the many lives he touched.
Additional details will be shared as they become available from the family.
With heartfelt sympathy,
Anita Bates
