Miss A Meal

Every day people like you and I simply decide to Miss A Meal and then donate the money that we would have spent on that meal to feed someone less fortunate.

Visit www.missameal.net for more information or to donate. Miss A Meal is a fundraising campaign designed to meet the needs of the hungry by encouraging everyday people to miss a meal and in turn donate the money that they would have spent. The donation is then used to feed those who are less fortunate. Donations can be made online at www.missameal.net or via text message.

We are saddened at the loss of one of Miss A Meal’s co-founders, Cy Jackson.

One person can leave such an indelible impression in the world and that is definitely the case when it came to Cy.

Cy lit up any room she walked into. Her enthusiasm for life and giving back was infectious. As an indie recording artist, her voice left one inspired and ready to take over the world.

In fact, she donated 100% of the proceeds from her emotional song, “Heartbeat”, in order to provide free sustainable and healthy meals to the Houston community.

This single selfless act sparked a conversation, and the Miss A Meal campaign was created with the Cy Jackson inspired premise that one person has the power to impact many and impact many she did, from the Mrs. Carter Show World Tour to December 10th being declared as “Miss A Meal Day” in Houston, TX.

An accomplished songstress, sister, daughter, friend, wife and so much more, we can never forget what Cy did for the Miss A Meal campaign. She gave all that she was and asked for nothing in return.

To remember Cy Jackson, we ask that donations be made to the Bread Of Life, Inc, Houston Food Bank, or Goodwill Industries International in her memory.

This week at @breadoflifehoutx the reality settled in that this was going to be a long slow walk to recovery for our city. We are grateful for our partners, volunteers, staff, and donors as we pray for our weekly distribution recipients and their families. COVID19 testing is coming soon as we prepare for an expanded outreach to vulnerable Houstonians who have tested positive. Aerial 📷: @tommytenzo 05/17/2020
