Visiting Fort Bend County with a message of empowering relationships for a common cause, whether it’s safer neighborhoods, a fair judiciary, or a more equitable society should guide public service. We are public servants, and there must never be politics at the expense of people. America can be that shared tent of a dream for all, where collaboration and compassion prevail over division.

As reminded by Psalm 133:1 (NIV): “How good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity!”

Ephesians 4:3-6 (NIV): “Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called to one hope when you were called; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is over all and through all and in all.”

Friends, neighbors, fellow citizens:

Voting is more than a ballot. It is a powerful expression of who we are and what we believe about our shared future. I started voting at 21, and ever since, it has remained a steady commitment in every election. That consistency is not just personal discipline it is a promise to those who came before us and those who will come after: that we will do our part to shape a fair, just, and thriving society.

Across history, countless people have sacrificed for the right to vote. Their courage reminds us that freedom and equality are won through participation, perseverance, and peaceful action. When we cast our vote, we honor that legacy and take responsibility for the kind of community we want to build.

Vote because you care about schools that light up minds, streets that are safe, honest leadership, and a government that answers to the people. Vote because every voice matters, and every ballot can move us toward a brighter, more inclusive future.

As many faith traditions remind us, we are called to seek the good of our neighbor and to work for justice. In that spirit, let us engage thoughtfully, debate respectfully, and participate fully. Our ballots are tools to shape policy, hold leaders accountable, and advance the common good.

So today, let us show up, informed and united in purpose, and vote for a society that reflects our highest ideals: dignity for all, opportunity for every child, and a future we are proud to pass on.

Thank you and let's rock the VOTE...
