The Houston City College Foundation is excited to share that Kristina Perez has accepted the permanent position of Senior Director of Development after successfully serving in the interim role.
Throughout her time with the Foundation, Kristina has demonstrated outstanding leadership, a deep commitment to student success, and a passion for building meaningful relationships with donors, community partners, and stakeholders. Her dedication to expanding educational opportunities and helping students overcome barriers has strengthened our mission and impact across the communities we serve.
As Senior Director of Development, Kristina will continue leading philanthropic efforts, supporting the Foundation's development team, and helping create pathways for students to achieve their educational and career goals.

The Houston City College Foundation proudly recognized Past Chair Ryan F. McCauley for nine years of dedicated service—including two impactful years as Chair—with a special proclamation at the April 15, 2026, HCC Board of Trustees meeting.
During his tenure, Ryan helped lead a period of remarkable growth, including the successful completion of the “Invest in Houston’s Future” campaign 16 months ahead of schedule—creating lasting opportunities for students across our community. His leadership also contributed to record-setting annual fundraising and strengthened support for our mission.
We are also grateful to Ryan and his wife, Jessica McCauley, for their service as Gala Co-Chairs of the HCC Foundation Gold Gala in 2020 and the HCC Foundation Gala Celebration in 2022, helping make these celebrations both meaningful and successful.

Dr. Kathleen Anzivino and Dr. Diana Castillo have generously supported HCC Student Success through their philanthropic support. The HCC Foundation is profoundly grateful!!! Thank you.
Dr. Anzivino retires after 46 years of dedicated service, and Dr. Castillo after an incredible 49 years of commitment to education and student success. Together, their combined 95 years of service represent a remarkable legacy of leadership, integrity, mentorship, and unwavering belief in the transformative power of education.
Their work has shaped generations of students, strengthened our institution, and inspired colleagues across our college community. While they will be deeply missed, the impact of their leadership and service will continue to guide us for years to come.

Hugo Ortega beyond being distinguished alumni, chef Ortega, and his wife Tracy Vaught have established an endowment supporting HCC Culinary students. We are grateful for their generous philanthropic support.
Congratulations to esteemed Houston City College Culinary Arts Alum Chef Hugo Ortega for being selected as a 2026 James Beard Foundation Award Semifinalist! He and his wife Tracy Vaught's H-Town Restaurant Group is competing in the Outstanding Restaurateur category. In 2017 Chef Hugo was named Best Chef Southwest at the James Beard Foundation Restaurant & Chef Awards.
