We don’t just advocate—we show up. 💙
This Saturday at Tom Bass Park, the NAACP Houston Branch joined the Sisters Network 5K Walk/Run in support of community health and awareness. While this impactful event was led by the Sisters Network, our branch was proud to stand in solidarity—showing what partnership and presence look like in real time.
With leadership from our Community Coordination Committee and support from Membership and Political Action, we continue to meet our community where they are.
Because real impact happens when we move together.

Today’s General Body Meeting was filled with powerful updates and meaningful community impact. ✊🏾
We were honored to have
Teneshia Hudspeth to share important updates on property tax concerns, new initiatives, and voter resources—including tools to help our community stay informed and prepared.
We also highlighted upcoming events like the April 30 Political Debate, VA Homebuyer resources, and opportunities for our youth to get involved through voter education and poll worker recruitment.
This is why we gather—to connect our community to real information, real resources, and real action.

Power. Voice. Action. ✊🏾
On March 28, 2026, the Houston community showed up and showed out at the No Kings Protest at City Hall Plaza and Tranquility Park—standing firm for justice, equity, and the protection of our democracy.
This moment was powered by leadership and collaboration across the NAACP Houston Branch:
• Membership Committee, led by Mitchell Harris
• Political Action Committee, led by Dr. Coretta Mallet-Fontenot
• Education Committee, led by Jackie White-Anderson
We also extend appreciation to Pastor Tim, Toy, and dedicated community partners who helped bring this event to life.
Events like this are at the core of the NAACP’s mission. We organize, educate, and mobilize because our voices matter—and when we stand together, we create real change.
This is what community-centered leadership looks like. This is what advocacy in action looks like.
Stay engaged. Stay informed. Stay ready. Join us at the next NAACP Houston Branch meeting and be part of the movement.
